A new space dedicated to the lives and sacrifices of the Emanuel Nine.

The Emanuel Nine Memorial is dedicated to the Emanuel Nine – the church’s clergy and members who tragically lost their lives on June 17, 2015. Located on the church grounds, the Memorial creates a space to honor the victims, their families, and the survivors. The courtyard features two benches around a marble fountain engraved with the names of the Emanuel Nine. A garden space surrounded by stone benches and trees honors the survivors.

Altieri is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and information technology design services. Scope includes design and coordination of the new utility infrastructure serving the property, with systems independent from the adjacent Church. The work also consisted of relocating existing electrical utilities underground and developing the building systems needed to support the memorial grounds, utility building, water features, site lighting, and technology needs.
