Folger Shakespeare Library is an Award Winner

2025 Aei Folger Award

We are pleased to announce we won a 2025 Professional Project Award from the Architectural Engineering Institute of ASCE! Folger Shakespeare Library, completed in June 2024, was awarded an Award of Merit in the Architectural Engineering Integration category.

In 2017, the Library launched a 44,419 SF (with 6,000 SF below grade), $80.5 million renewal and expansion project led by architects KieranTimberlake.

The design team was challenged to create a cohesive building and visitor experience and incorporate contemporary interventions while preserving the architectural integrity of the nearly 100-year-old building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. If this wasn’t challenging enough, the 6,000 SF expansion was beneath the building, generating exceptional systems integration design and team coordination accomplishments.
