Our project at Yale University 37 Hillhouse Avenue (Graves-Gilman House) won a 2026 AGC-CT Build CT Award in the CM/GC Mid-Size Renovation ($10 m. – $30 m.) category. The award was presented to Petra Construction Corp., with the project team in attendance at the ceremony: Christopher Williams Architects, GNCB Consulting Engineers, Yale Facilities, and our own Mechanical Engineer, Chris St. Onge.

This award goes to a project that included both a renovation of the existing building and an addition. The addition accommodates a new elevator, egress stair, and increased office space. The building is located in a National Register Historic District. The team used mass timber for the interior walls and the project is targeting LEED Gold.
Along with this award, the project has also won a 2025 Home Building Industry Awards – Best Commercial Rehab Under 20,000 SF and 2025 AIA CT, Merit Award in the Historic Preservation/Adaptive Reuse category.
