A technologically advanced production campus setting a new standard for filmmaking
East End Studios’ new production studio, Sunnyside Campus, meets the needs of the entertainment business in New York City. Sunnyside is a Class-A facility offering the highest standard of infrastructure and technological capabilities. The studio includes 4 full-service sound stages (one of which is sub-dividable), a rooftop flex-stage, rooftop terraces, and production, office, support, and commissary spaces.
Altieri’s project scope included the design of IT, AV, and Security systems for the 350,000 SF building, leveraging the firm’s extensive experience in integrated low voltage system design. AV systems were tailored for office and tenant fit-out spaces. Data services include high-speed symmetric internet services, fiber infrastructure to facilitate high-density video distribution and internet, and VoIP telephone services. Firewalls utilizing the latest hardware were implemented to maintain the highest level of data security. The security design also incorporated advanced analytics for the parking garage while complying with stringent movie studio security requirements. Reliable WiFi coverage throughout the building, including the underground parking garage, was a key project requirement. Access points were carefully coordinated to be positioned adjacent to production equipment and theatrical lighting within the movie studios. All systems were engineered for remote maintenance by off-site staff.
